Slide-Proof Your Summer

Did you know that summer slide is a real thing? Typically, elementary students lose 25-34% of their math gains and 17-24% of literacy gains during the summer months. You can help your incoming 3rd through 5th grader avoid the summer slide and get a jump start on next year by signing them up for Camp Orin Smith Elemetary.

This summer, we are so excited to offer Camp OSE, two two-week sessions of fun, engaging and hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathmatics) learning sessions open to ALL students, entering grades 3, 4, and 5:

  • WHEN: 9 a.m. to Noon Monday-Thursday June 15-25 and Aug. 3-13
  • WHERE: Orin Smith Elementary
  • COST: FREE for all incoming 3rd through 5th Graders

Can't come every day? Have a vacation planned?  Totally fine! Register for one or both sessions and just come when you can.

You can register your student for FREE by using THIS LINK or through the QR Code above

Get to Know Camp OSE

A photo of a backpack and the words Camp Essentials

This isn’t some sit-in-a-desk kind of experience. This is summer camp. Campers should arrive every day ready to move around … a lot. In addition to comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing, we ask that every Camper brings a water bottle so they can stay hydrated. All other camp gear is provided each day.

The Camp OSE experience revolves helping Campers maintain and even grow their knowledge from the previous school year through fun, hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) activities. Our campers rotate between activities: one moment they might be building a new invention to solve a common problem and the next reading an inspiring story that sets them off on their own writing journey.

Did you know our Camp even has a mess hall? Snacks are included each day, helping our Campers keep up their energy to learn and grow. There is also an optional free lunch served at noon for any students ages 18 and younger who want to join us. Meals must be eaten on site.
